Each week during the school year, Care Help provides bags filled with nonperishable single-serving food items to students who live with food insecurity on the weekends. The counselors, teachers, and administrative staff at schools in West Calcasieu and West Cameron parishes determine the need and communicate this with Care Help. We are currently assisting 520 students each week this 2025-2026 school year.
Thank you to our faithful volunteers who help put the bags together.
In 2024, Care Help distributed 23,400 bags at $3.50 each, totaling $81,900 in Cash Assistance.
