Each week during the school year, Care Help provides bags filled with nonperishable single-serving food items to students who live with food insecurity on the weekends. The counselors, teachers, and administrative staff at schools in West Calcasieu and West Cameron parishes determine the need and communicate this with Care Help. We are currently assisting 597 students each week this 2024-2025 school year.

Cameron LNG Gives to StudentsWe extend our sincere gratitude to Cameron LNG for their generous contribution to our Backpack Blessing program, which provides vital food assistance to students. This partnership has enabled us to reach our 15th year of serving food-insecure school students on weekends, currently supporting 590 students across west Calcasieu parish every weekend.
