One in six people face hunger daily, and one in four children struggle with food insecurity at home. Thirteen percent of seniors over 60 face difficulties accessing food. When households, especially those with children, lack food security, it limits their potential. In the long term, hunger hinders local economic growth, productivity, and increases healthcare costs. Many families live paycheck to paycheck, forced to make impossible choices.
If you live in West Calcasieu or West Cameron parish (our service area) and need supplemental groceries, please come in during our office hours. For individuals and families needing food only, bring photo ID, for everyone in household: Social Security cards, proof of residency, income and food stamp sheet if receive . Care Help has witnessed struggles in West Cameron Parish. With Sempra Infrastructure’s partnership, we're turning our vision into a reality, by creating a future where everyone has access to nutritious food and basic needs. Hunger affects the well-being of our communities, but together, we are creating positive change.
Qualifying families can visit the Food Pantry once per month.
Care Help’s Food Pantry is a "Free Choice Model," meaning you may select a designated number of items from each category. This allows households to bring home the items their family will best be able to utilize.
